Has John been Found?
Unfortunately, no.
There was another missing John found, and that may have confused some people.
When was his last confirmed sighting?
His last "confirmed" sighting was on 5/26/2026, walking north on County Road 11 towards 13 at 2:15pm-2:30pm. There was another sighting that lined up with this at the stop light from County Road 11 and Highway 13, but did not see what direction he was traveling.
Have you checked the hospitals?
We contact both the hospitals and medical examiners, often looking for John Does or John Kapaun.
Does John have his phone?
John did not have his phone, money, or access to a car. He only had fruit snacks, a can of Grizzly long cut straight, and 2 cough drops.
Is law enforcement involved?
Have you search with drones, helicopters, and dogs?
Yes, thanks to the Burnsville PD and United Legacy, drones, helicopters, thermal cameras, and K9s have been used. We still have ongoing efforts with K9s and Drones.
What should I do If I see John?
Please call 911 if there is a potential sighting. Make sure to state that he is a vulnerable adult (Diabetic in need of insulin, they will take it more seriously), and stay in the area that you call from until they arrive. You can have the dispatcher give you an ETA (may not always be correct).
